Patrick Just wow...so good.

Demi Lots of atmosphere and bright notes. This band really reminds me of the other japanese bands I'm into like AKFG and others, but they also seem to have a flavor for really deep and beautiful ballads of their own. Favorite track: kyokuya.

Mansoor Syed Every single song is a new experience. It's like what Tides of Man did without a vocalist; incredible, beautiful music that doesn't need singing to make it any prettier. Favorite track: setsuna.

Jake Joyce Wow, I am absolutely smitten with this album. This release most DEFINITELY musters up feelings of nostalgia. Reminds me a lot of Ghosts & Vodka. Can't recommend this enough. Favorite track: leapdown.
Andrew Grannis

about

The debut album from Kyoto, Japan’s e;in sees a worldwide release from Seattle’s MeatCubeLabel. One of Japan’s brightest Post Rock quartets, e;in follows in the footsteps of fellow countrymen toe and Lite, bringing that distinct sound that can only come from the country of the rising sun. 10 brilliantly crafted tracks invoke feelings of nostalgia, relaxation, and excitement.

e;in was hatched into the world by Junichi Yodo (guitar) and Takumi Kouno (drums) as a recording project. Based in Kyoto, they quickly attracted more members, Naosuke Wakahara (bass) and Takayuki Kanazawa (guitar). Once complete, the band began live performances to complement their recordings. Their first self-titled EP came in 2010 and immediately caused a stir in the Japanese independent scene. Going back to the studio after two more years, they released a second ep, carpe diem, in the fall of 2012 which further solidified their place as one of Japan’s up and coming post-rock quartets, alongside Toe and Lite. After another 3 years of song crafting and polishing, 2015’s Season for Reading is finally ready to take the world by storm.

* Guitarist Kanazawa also leads the Kyoto-based instrumental rock trio Low-Pass.
